Hans R Brands is founder (1993) and owner of Vision Consort bv (Eindhoven and Brussels). With a background in electronic engineering and theoretical physics he worked as a project manager, quality manager, and consultant in numberless projects, ranging from the first CD encoder, software metrics and risk analysis for O-O systems to the conceptual design of knowledge based systems.

He specialised in software and product creation process improvement, using e.g. the CMMs of the SEI. As a consultant, among his clients are major Dutch and Belgian banks and embedded industries. He writes a monthly column in the Dutch Automatiseringgids.
