Wim Smets started as a project lead in the IT-industry 20 years ago in 1990. 20 years and 3 companies later, he works now as a program manager for a large outsourcing company.

He manages global transformation programs that cover the entire range of IT and beyond (applications, infrastructure, service desk, call center) for a wide variety of clients. He works with project/program managers from around the world to change the way clients operate their IT department.

Wim Smets is an experienced mountaineer.  He climbed his first big peaks in Ecuador in 1998. Since then mountains have become a fixed ingredient of all his vacations. In the mean time, he has become the 3rd Belgian to climb the 7 Summits (the highest mountain on each of the 7 continents) and he is one of the few Belgian that has reached the summit of two 8000 meter peaks (Cho Oyu and Everest).
