PMI BeNeLux Day

12th PMI BENELUX DAY – The Netherlands – 1st October 2011 12th_pmi_benelux_day_logo_color

The first border to understand and conquer is the relationship between the project manager and senior management.

Organizations pay too little attention to the internal means and methods of communication between project roles and management levels, which can result in cultural borders within the customer’s own environment.

As a result inadvertent signals are sent between a customer and a supplier which impact adversely on the ability of the PM to communicate with other members of the Project management team.

Part of the problem is the inappropriate selection and appointment of people to a project manager’s role. Furthermore, the failure of senior management to empower the PM further exasperates the situation.
