Building on the success of the 2010 survey on PPM practices executed by Nolan, Norton & Co., PPM Accelerate was initiated in February 2011. Janssen Pharmaceutica - part of the Johnson & Johnson Group and one of the most innovative pharmaceutical companies in the world - expressed the need for a PPM platform and decided to create it with the help of Nolan, Norton & Co. and Dr. Michael Menke, President of Value Creation Associates and PPM expert. The platform enabled +30 participants - international companies from a variety of sectors – to share knowledge, compare PPM processes and performance and identify best practices to further improve performance and results.
This lecture will explain the PPM framework used in this study and elaborate on the defined best practices, common pitfalls and lessons learned. The findings will be illustrated by examples of PPM practices at the participating companies. Elements that will be addressed are:
